The Philippines

A successful public-private partnership since 1997

Iv3 Aqua is a shareholder in Subic Water and Sewage Co, Inc. (SUBICWATER), a utility that provides water and wastewater services to a population of approximately 260,000 people in two adjoining service areas: Olongapo City and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in the Philippines. SUBICWATER was the first private water utility in the Philippines.

Total water cycle management

As concessionaire, SUBICWATER enjoys exclusive rights to manage, maintain, and upgrade all existing water and sewerage facilities within its service areas. The company oversees the entire municipal water and sewerage cycle, encompassing water abstraction, treatment, and distribution, as well as sewage collection, treatment, billing, revenue collection, and infrastructure development.

Reliable, responsive, and sustainable operations

SUBICWATER’s water production capacity stands at around 90,000 cubic meters per day. The great majority of this capacity, approximately 90%, is supplied by two conventional surface water treatment plants, while the remaining 10% is sourced from groundwater.

In addition to its water treatment operations, SUBICWATER operates and maintains eight wastewater treatment plants, primarily utilizing activated sludge processes. These plants are supported by an extensive infrastructure network, including approximately 90 kilometers of sanitary pipelines, over 1,400 manholes, 21 lift stations, and 11 outfalls. The company also offers sanitation services for septic systems within the Olongapo City service area.
