Iv3 Aqua – what’s in the name?

Iv3 Aqua is the third water company we have developed and grown, following the success of Ionics, Inc. and Seven Seas Water/AquaVenture Holdings. Ionics, Inc.
Ionics, Inc. was a trailblazer in water treatment technology innovation. Founded in 1948 by scientists and engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, the company was originally focused on developing desalination technology and invented the world’s first ion-exchange membrane used to purify water.
Throughout its storied history, Ionics had tremendous impact on advancing water treatment technologies and solutions, playing an early pivotal role in global efforts to address water scarcity challenges and to ensure access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water supplies for communities and businesses around the world. Over a span of nearly 50 years, Ionics was a leading provider of water treatment solutions to industrial, commercial, and municipal clients in over 60 countries and built more desalination plants than any other company in the world.
Seven Seas Water
Co-founded in 1997 by Frederick Hung, Iv3 Aqua’s President and co-founder, Seven Seas Water Corporation embarked on its journey in the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. In 2007, the company merged with AquaVenture Holdings, a company established by Douglas Brown, the former CEO of Ionics. Mr. Brown became the CEO of Seven Seas Water and was the Chairman and CEO of AquaVenture Holdings. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Iv3 Aqua.
Seven Seas Water pioneered the innovative Water-as-a-Service® (WaaS®) business model, which offers clients a hassle-free, reliable water supply at a guaranteed quantity, quality, and price without requiring any upfront investment by the client.
AquaVenture Holdings made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) through an initial public offering (IPO) in 2016. The capital from the IPO propelled Seven Seas Water’s growth as a leading provider of comprehensive water services across the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States. By 2020, the company owned and operated a portfolio of approximately 150 water and wastewater treatment plants, solidifying its position in the industry.
There will be no Iv4 Aqua
Based on the team’s technical experience, financial expertise, strategic insights and collective wisdom, Iv3 Aqua was created to be a water management company and long-term owner and operator of water and wastewater related assets and businesses. The Iv3 Aqua team partnered with A.P. Moller Holding to build a business specifically focused on the long-term. The complementary nature of the Iv3 Aqua team’s vision and A.P.
